Guided tour in La Zona Colonial
A guided tour through the streets of Santo Domingo and La Zona Colonial, which is declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
You will learn about the history and see some of the most important landmarks of this beautiful city, which is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas. It was the first territory in the Caribbean discovered by Christofer Columbus in 1492 and the first seat of the Spanish colonial rule after his younger brother, Bartholomew Columbus, founded the city in 1496. Santo Domingo is the site of the first university, cathedral, castle, monastery, and fortress in the New World.
At the end of the tour we stop at a local shop where you have the chance to buy souvenirs as a memory of your stay in Santo Domingo. Part of the profit is used to help and support children from poor families in the Dominican Republic.
